Dr. Robert E. Rosenbaum MD
Board-Certified Neurosurgeon & Lifestyle Medicine Physician | Spine & SI Joint Care
Dr. Robert E. Rosenbaum is a board-certified neurosurgeon and board-certified lifestyle medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience in civilian and military neurosurgical practice. At the Nerve Bone & Joint Institute, he evaluates patients with disorders of the spine and sacroiliac joint, including cervical and lumbar degenerative disease, spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, chronic back pain, and SI joint dysfunction. He also has extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of craniocervical and atlantoaxial instability.
Dr. Rosenbaum's approach begins with establishing the correct diagnosis and understanding the factors contributing to a patient's symptoms and functional limitations. As both a neurosurgeon and a lifestyle medicine physician, he emphasizes appropriate nonsurgical care whenever possible, including rehabilitation, physical activity and conditioning, optimization of modifiable health factors, and coordination with other treating professionals. Surgery is considered when the diagnosis, symptoms, examination findings, imaging, response to nonsurgical treatment, and the patient's goals collectively support it as the appropriate next step.
